Blue Slip
A safety inspection report for unregistered vehicles. This
proves your vehicle is roadworthy, but it also makes sure
the car meets design and identity standards. We, at State
Vehicle Inspection Service are an Authorised Unregistered
Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS) where you can get a blue
slip inspection.
E.S.A.C is a one-stop-shop for all your vehicle registration
needs, We are equipped to give you an up to the minute
evaluation to prove that your new or used vehicle is
roadworthy and meets design and identity standards of the
RTA. We cater for Cars, Light Trucks, Motorcycles and
Trailers and Caravans.
We have simplified the whole process of registering your
vehicle. Once you obtain the Blue Slip from us, it will also
come with the required forms to complete the registration.
You will then be able to obtain and your pay for green slip,
and visit your nearest RTA to get your vehicle registered
and back on the road.
The features of a "Blue Slip" inspection that differ from a
"Pink Slip" include:
-
An enhanced vehicle
identity check which is intended to accurately identify
the vehicle
-
The addition of a
written-off vehicle check which is designed to help
detect stolen vehicles which have been re-identified
using the identities of wrecked vehicles bought at
auction
-
The inclusion of a
design check to ensure that a vehicle meets vehicle
design and
construction standards
-
Blue Slip is also
required for interstate vehicle in order to be
registered in NSW
Driving an unregistered vehicle attracts on-the-spot fines
($1007 for driving uninsured and unregistered) and four
demerit points. If the matter goes to court, the court can
impose fines of up to $2200 for driving unregistered and
$5500 for driving uninsured.
The only time you can legally drive an unregistered car is
to get the car registered – such as driving directly to your
inspection station or to a motor registry. And you must use
the most direct or convenient route.
